Vitamin E is a family of fat-soluble antioxidants, of which alpha-tocopherol is the most biologically active form in humans. It protects cell membranes from oxidative damage caused by free radicals and supports immune function and skin health. The RDA is 15 mg per day. Vegetable oils (especially wheat germ and sunflower oil), nuts, seeds, and green vegetables are the main dietary sources.
