About NutritionRef

NutritionRef is a nutrition reference database built on data from the USDA FoodData Central (FDC). It covers SR Legacy and Foundation Foods datasets — thousands of foods with detailed nutrient profiles.

What this site is

A reference tool for looking up and comparing the nutritional content of foods. All values are drawn directly from USDA datasets and displayed as-is, without modification.

Data source

All nutritional data comes from USDA FoodData Central:

• SR Legacy — the historical Standard Reference database (~8,000 foods)
• Foundation Foods — higher-quality analytical data for selected foods

Data is refreshed periodically. The current dataset version is shown on each food page.
